My story & approach
In full transparency, I started family photography by accident. The idea of trying to lure a free-spirited child to sit still and look at my camera did not appeal to me. It's not that I don't like kids--in fact, I LOVE kids and would love to have my own someday soon. But the photos I'd seen didn't feel natural, emotional, or... me.
It wasn't until I made an exception to my no-family-photos rule for my in-laws, and we did things our way. We played games, we climbed trees, we ran until we couldn't breathe, we snuggled and giggled and made goofy faces that wouldn't be considered "picture perfect".... and we LOVED it! I have been obsessed with family sessions ever since, and I've centered my style on that playful, true-to-life prompts & activities that get your kids excited about photos too.
